Tell us about your practice and why it was time to build out a new space.
Corsini Laser Eye Center is a state-of-the-art, veteran-owned, boutique laser vision correction center in Wayne, PA. Our facility just opened its doors on July 31, 2023 with the goal to provide premier, patient-centered refractive surgery in the Philadelphia area.
What type of space is it? What are the specs?
The office space is just under 2600 square feet, situated on the second floor of a two-story office building in the heart of Wayne. We are just across the street from the Strafford train station.
Are there specific needs / features that are unique to an eye care office?
The laser suite is the heart of our office space, and it has specific temperature, humidity, and lighting requirements for optimal surgical conditions. Brian and his team were extremely helpful and detail-oriented as they listened to and executed my specific needs.
Were there any specific finishes required for this type of space?
Certain specific finishes are required for a laser suite, including a 3' x 5' viewing window that looks into the suite with a motorized blackout blind. The suite also features a mini-split unit for local temperature control. We have LVP flooring for the exam lanes and the surgical suite and durable carpet for the high-traffic common area spaces.
Brian’s team outfitted our reception area with a custom, wood-paneled reception desk with quartz countertops and a built-in coffee nook.
Did any challenges or issues arise during the project that you didn’t anticipate? How did McCausland handle them?
The biggest challenge we encountered was when the engineering firm recommended additional environmental controls that were not necessary for the purposes of our space. These additional controls would have been extremely costly and time-consuming to implement. Brian understood what we truly needed and was helpful and effective in communicating my unique needs to the engineering firm so that we could ultimately find the path forward that worked best for our space and business.
Can you talk about your collaboration with Brian and his team?
Brian, Stephenie, and the entire McCausland team were so easy to work with. Communications were always clear and the team anticipated issues before they arose, rather than having to react to them. My home was undergoing a large-scale renovation at the same time with a different company, and the difference was night and day. I only wish McCausland also did residential!

Our project remained on schedule from start to finish, which was critical for business planning.
